VCORE 100 Tennis Racket

Yonex needed a series of six animations to highlight specific features of its new VCORE 100 tennis racket. Each sequence needed to clearly communicate a different aspect of the racket's design while maintaining a consistent visual style across the collection.

The challenge extended to the 3D asset itself, as the provided CAD files did not include every component of the finished racket. A physical sample and additional reference material were needed to accurately recreate details such as the grip, strings, grommets, and bumper guards.

We used the provided CAD files as the foundation and supplemented them with the physical racket, photographic references, and 2D artwork to complete the 3D model. Missing components including the grip, strings, grommets, and bumper guards were built and textured to create a fully detailed asset ready for animation.

Yonex provided visual references and direction for each sequence, calling for slow, deliberate camera movements that would draw attention to specific areas of the racket. Subtle fog, dramatic lighting, and a lava-style effect were introduced to emphasize the strings, grip, and internal frame construction while giving each animation a distinctive visual treatment. The animation featured on this page is an edited version combining selected moments from all six sequences, bringing the complete range of features and visual treatments together in one presentation.
