The challenge
When UPPAbaby first came to us in 2023, they were looking for a way to move beyond traditional white-background eCommerce photography. We helped them explore how photorealistic 3D rendering could give their team a head start on marketing imagery while products were still being finalized.
The challenge was to create imagery that felt as considered and refined as the products themselves, often before a finished product was available to photograph. We worked closely with UPPAbaby to accurately capture the character of each design—from the look and texture of the fabrics to the stitching, materials, proportions, and construction details—so the final renders could serve as a confident, polished extension of the brand.
Our approach
We typically receive a combination of 3D CAD files, physical samples, fabric swatches, 2D specifications, and image direction from the UPPAbaby team. While the CAD gives us the hardgoods and underlying framework, we build the softgoods from scratch—including fabrics, canopies, baskets, straps, padding, and other flexible components. We also recreate the many configurations needed for each product, from folded and unfolded strollers to different canopy, seat, and headrest positions.
Once the product is built, we create a complete set of "fashion" images covering the required angles, configurations, fabrics, colors, and frame finishes. For products sold across different markets, we also account for regional variations such as US, EU, and Australian specifications. This allows us to build a reusable, highly accurate 3D version of each product that can support the initial launch and continue to be updated as new fashions and product variations are introduced.

Vista V3
The Vista V3 pushed the workflow to its largest scale yet, with 11 US fashion variations and 6 Australian variations. Each US fashion required a complete set of 45 renderings covering the product from multiple angles and configurations. With so many variations, consistency became just as important as accuracy. The underlying product had to remain identical from image to image while fabrics, colors, configurations, and regional specifications changed. The result was a large library of launch-ready imagery built from a single, highly detailed 3D product.

Mamaroo Smart Swing Animation
The Mamaroo Smart Swing was a unique project within our work with UPPAbaby. We used the same detailed 3D workflow developed for their still imagery to create an animation that showcased the product in motion. It was a natural extension of the relationship: once the product exists accurately in 3D, the same asset can be used to create new types of marketing content beyond static product imagery.
An Ongoing Partnership
Since our first Vista V2 project in 2023, we've worked with UPPAbaby on 22 products and well over 1,000 individual renderings and counting. What began as an exploration of using 3D to replace traditional product photography has grown into an ongoing partnership supporting new product launches, fashion updates, configurations, and regional variations. By building detailed 3D assets that can evolve alongside each product, we've created a visual system UPPAbaby can rely on throughout the product lifecycle.
