The challenge

Paragonix Technologies had previously worked with us to create smaller sets of white-background product renderings for several of its organ preservation devices. With those 3D assets already established, the next opportunity was to expand the library into a larger series of lifestyle imagery showcasing the devices in the real-world environments where they are used.

The challenge was to create convincing, detailed environments for five different products while maintaining a practical visual language across the series. Each scene needed to support multiple camera angles and compositions without becoming repetitive, while accurately reflecting the clinical and logistical settings surrounding organ transportation and transplantation.

Our approach

The existing 3D assets provided the foundation for the new campaign, allowing us to focus on developing the environments around them. Operating rooms, medical offices, helipads, airport runways, and an ambulance interior were designed and art directed from scratch, then populated primarily with existing 3D assets that were modified where needed. Each environment was built to hold up from multiple angles, giving us the flexibility to create a varied collection of images without repeatedly relying on the same composition.

Several images also revealed the internal canisters used to hold and protect the organs, requiring additional setup of the existing CAD geometry for photorealistic rendering. Lighting and color grading were tailored to each product, incorporating subtle accents of the devices' signature colors while maintaining a cohesive look across the entire series.

Creating the environments required more than simply making them look convincing. The placement of equipment, vehicles, and other elements needed to make practical sense within the context of organ procurement and transportation. Understanding how the devices would actually move through these environments helped guide the staging and composition of each scene.

The project was also an opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, to the work Paragonix is doing to advance organ transplantation and improve outcomes for patients in need. Being a small part of a team developing technology that can make a meaningful difference in people's lives was one of the most rewarding aspects of the project. Seeing the individual product assets evolve into a larger visual story about how these devices are used made the work feel especially meaningful.
