The challenge

Thümm & Co. needed to elevate the product photography for its TCO 2000 Series, a collection of four men's watches. The goal was to create photorealistic imagery that could showcase each design from multiple angles while highlighting the subtle differences in materials, finishes, and straps.

Our approach

We began with the 3D CAD files and physical watch samples provided by Thümm & Co., using both as references throughout production. The CAD models were optimized and refined for photorealistic rendering, with certain elements redesigned to give us greater control over the final result. This included rebuilding the leather straps and carefully recreating details such as the stitching.

Once the models and materials were finalized, we developed a dramatic black-background lighting setup designed to emphasize the watches' materials, finishes, and intricate details. Multiple camera angles were created for each watch, with depth of field and lens effects added during post-production to enhance the final images.

The TCO 2000 Series presented an opportunity to create a consistent visual system across four watch designs while still highlighting the details that made each one unique. The similar construction of the watches allowed us to maintain consistency in modeling, materials, lighting, and composition, while variations in straps and finishes required individual adjustments.

The result was a flexible collection of high-quality product images that could showcase each watch from multiple angles without the limitations of traditional photography. By creating the watches in 3D, Thümm & Co. could maintain a consistent look across the entire collection while having greater control over the final imagery.
