With the slogan “Premium Beer,” Sapporo naturally needed premium 3D renders to showcase their new beer cans and bottle designs in detail.

The challenge

Sapporo Canada needed premium product imagery for four new beer can and bottle designs, with each SKU requiring versions both with and without condensation. The imagery needed to capture the metallic finishes and branded artwork while maintaining a clean, polished presentation suitable for marketing materials.

Our approach

We began with the 650ml can, which had the most complex geometry due to its custom-faceted edge profile. After building and approving the model and camera angle, we developed the brushed metal material and layered the provided artwork over the surface. The finished setup became the foundation for the remaining can sizes and bottle.

The condensation required a combination of procedural techniques and custom adjustments to achieve a natural distribution of droplets without obscuring important branding. Different lighting setups were tested to create a clean studio look while bringing out the metallic finish, surface detail, and moisture on the packaging.

Tall 650 mL Sapporo Premium Beer can with condensation

Once the 650ml can was established, the same 3D workflow could be adapted across the remaining can sizes and bottle, allowing the entire collection to maintain a consistent visual style. Changes to the packaging, camera, or lighting could be made digitally without having to recreate a physical photoshoot for each SKU.

The result was a flexible collection of product imagery that gave Sapporo Canada consistent, high-quality visuals across multiple package formats and treatments. The 3D assets also provided greater control over details such as condensation, reflections, and lighting that can be difficult to manage consistently in traditional product photography.
