The challenge

Working with Mind Your Design, a creative agency specializing in branding, design, and visual communication, we were tasked with creating a series of lifestyle images for the M2 Aircraft using 3D CAD that was still being finalized. With limited reference available, including prototype photography and developing design files, the challenge was to create a highly detailed and photorealistic aircraft that could convincingly integrate into each environment.

Our approach

Using the developing CAD files as a foundation, we refined the aircraft model and built the materials and textures needed for close-up, photorealistic rendering. Prototype photographs provided additional reference for surface details, finishes, and other elements that were not yet fully represented in the CAD.

Mind Your Design supplied the background imagery and creative direction for each composition, including the desired placement and orientation of the aircraft. We then developed lighting for each environment to match the existing photographic conditions, carefully balancing reflections, shadows, color, and atmospheric perspective to make the 3D aircraft feel naturally integrated into the scene.

The project required the aircraft to feel like the same physical product across every image while adapting its appearance to dramatically different surroundings. Each environment presented its own combination of lighting, color, atmosphere, and perspective, requiring the aircraft's materials and lighting to be carefully adjusted to match.

The finished collection demonstrates how 3D product visualization can be combined with existing photography to create convincing lifestyle imagery even when a physical product or finalized design is not yet available. This approach gave Mind Your Design the flexibility to present the M2 Aircraft in a range of environments while maintaining a consistent and highly detailed representation of the aircraft.
