Liquid I.V.
Liquid I.V. turned to 3D product rendering to recreate its signature sachets with bright studio lighting, realistic condensation, and photorealistic detail.

The challenge
Liquid I.V. wanted to explore whether 3D rendering could produce product imagery that surpassed what was possible with traditional photography. Their sachets presented several challenges, from wrinkles and imperfections to the difficulty of achieving consistent, natural-looking condensation across every product. The initial project focused on three sachets, rendered front and back with a bright, sunny studio look. The condensation required precise art direction, with specific requirements for droplet size, density, distribution, and overall appearance. Achieving the desired result required several rounds of iteration to refine both the lighting and condensation until the imagery met Liquid I.V.'s exacting standards.
Our approach
We built detailed 3D models of the sachets, carefully recreating the subtle wrinkles, material properties, and surface characteristics of the flexible packaging. We then developed the lighting and condensation as controlled elements, allowing us to precisely adjust the studio lighting, droplet size, density, and distribution.
Through several rounds of art direction, we refined the renders to achieve the bright, sunny look Liquid I.V. wanted while maintaining a natural and consistent appearance across both sides of each sachet.

Following the success of the initial project, Liquid I.V. expanded the scope to include 46 SKUs and counting across its product line. The rendering library now includes sachets, pouches, and boxes in a range of sizes and configurations, with each product rendered from the views needed for its packaging format. Most products are also delivered with both condensed and clean versions, giving Liquid I.V. flexibility in how much condensation appears in the final image.
The layered PSD files take that flexibility even further, with condensation and other render elements separated into layers that can be adjusted in post-production. This allows the team to add, reduce, or remove individual droplets and control their placement without requiring a new render. Because each product is built as a 3D asset, the models can also be reused across lifestyle imagery, animations, group shots, and other creative applications. What began as an exploration of 3D rendering has since become Liquid I.V.'s preferred approach for creating its standard white-background product imagery.
