Power strips aren't exactly glamorous, but KMC wanted premium 3D product renderings that could compete with the best in the category.

The challenge

KMC needed a series of high-quality product renderings for its power strips and surge protectors, with imagery intended for its website and Amazon listings. Previous rendering attempts had fallen short of the photorealistic quality and consistency KMC was looking for, so the goal was to create a more polished and cohesive presentation across multiple products.

Our approach

Working from KMC's existing CAD files and 2D graphics, we established a consistent rendering setup that could be adapted across four products. Shared guidelines for camera angles, lighting, and composition helped maintain a cohesive look while allowing each design to be presented individually.

The power cords required particular attention, especially the wrapped compositions where the length and arrangement varied between products. The braided texture was modeled in detail to hold up in close-up views, with the available product information and reference materials guiding the construction and proportions.

The project was a good example of how thoughtful rendering can elevate even an everyday product. Rather than relying on dramatic environments or elaborate effects, the focus was on precise modeling, realistic materials, controlled lighting, and clean compositions that allowed the products themselves to stand out.

The final collection gave KMC a consistent set of high-quality images across multiple products, providing a more polished visual presence for its website and Amazon listings.
