The challenge

R&B Innovations needed photorealistic eCommerce imagery for its new line of Gummy Geek supplements. Previous attempts at photography had produced inconsistent results due to glare on the bottles and labels, making it difficult to achieve the clean, polished look the products required.

Our approach

We created 3D models of the supplement containers and gummies using photographic references, label artwork, and 2D graphics supplied by the client. Particular attention was given to the Vitamin C gummy, which features a distinctive sugary coating. A scattering system was used to distribute small crystal-like structures across its surface to recreate the texture.

Physics-based simulation was then used to create natural-looking arrangements of gummies both inside and outside the containers. Subsurface scattering helped reproduce the translucent quality of the gummies, while carefully controlled lighting was used to bring out the foil details in the labels without introducing the glare that had made traditional photography challenging.

The final renderings provided a consistent visual style across the Gummy Geek product line while giving the client complete control over the presentation of each SKU. By creating the products digitally, we were able to eliminate the lighting and glare issues encountered during photography while maintaining accurate materials, labels, and product details.

The result was a flexible set of eCommerce-ready images that could be produced without requiring physical product samples, giving R&B Innovations a polished and consistent visual library for its new products.
