Fisher Snacks

Fisher Snacks turned to 3D package rendering to create precise GS1 product imagery, including complex transparent packaging filled with photorealistic, simulated food products.

The challenge

Fisher Snacks needed accurate GS1 product imagery for packaging that made the product inside just as important as the package itself. Transparent containers had to be modeled with precise shapes, proportions, materials, and labels, while the nuts and other food products visible inside needed to look natural and accurately represent the actual contents. The challenge was not simply recreating the packaging, but faithfully reproducing how different products fill and distribute within each container.

Our approach

Working from Fisher Snacks' label artwork and reference photography, we built detailed 3D models of each package, carefully matching the transparent materials, proportions, labels, and subtle details of the physical containers. We also created custom 3D assets for the nuts and other food products, using reference imagery to accurately recreate their shape, size, color, and appearance.

We then used simulations to distribute the food throughout each container, carefully controlling fill height, quantity, orientation, and the distribution of different food types. This allowed us to create realistic representations of the actual product inside while maintaining consistency across all required product views.

We created 3D package renderings for dozens of Fisher Snacks SKUs in collaboration with Syndigo, with each product delivered in a standardized set of nine views to meet GS1 imagery requirements. While the products varied widely in appearance, many used the same handful of container designs with different labels and product fills, allowing us to build a reusable library of packaging assets that made subsequent renderings much more efficient.

The same approach applied to the food inside the containers. Many products shared the same underlying food assets across different flavors and varieties, allowing us to reuse the models and adjust their materials and textures to accurately represent each product. This combination of reusable packaging and food assets made it possible to efficiently scale the rendering process while maintaining the detail and consistency required across the entire product line.
